Summer 2010 A.Y.B.T.
CAPITAL AREA COUGARS Youth Basketball is excited to announce the sign-up period for AYBT Summer Basketball 2010 has begun! You will need to complete registration at the parent meeting on March 7.
SIGN UP PROCEDURE:
STEP 1) Sign up will be done online at www.capitalareacougars.org
STEP 2) You MUST attend the parent meeting scheduled in March to complete registration and pay fees.
PARENT MEETING Sunday, March 7 2p-4p at Lansing Catholic High School. Attendance is required to complete registration and pay fees. Players do not need to attend as we do not have the gym. You need to bring a check made out to CAC in the exact amount for registration and uniform if needed. The optional tournament amount will be added later if your child’s team chooses to attend the extra weekend. If we do not have enough spots on a team, the players who have paid at registration will be placed on a team over those who do not pay until the first practice.
ALL fees MUST be paid by the first practice in order to be placed on a team.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
1) Former Summer CAC Players
2) Former Winter CAC Players
3) Siblings of current CAC players
4) Others who attend a Catholic Youth League School
Non-Catholic school players MAY play summer basketball but will be added only if there is room on teams.
Teams are available for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade boys and girls, subject to availability of coaches.
(8th graders need to contact Rich Kimball at LCHS for summer basketball sign up.)
There will be no tryouts or cuts.
ALL players will play 40-60% of the time.
Teams will be equally divided by talent and numbers after the first couple of practices.
We will accommodate as many players as we can with the coaching and gym resources available to us.
Team placement will be determined by the coaches and will be final and non-negotiable.
NO REFUNDS unless illness or injury occurs at which time the refund will be prorated and given back AFTER the summer season (mid July).
PRACTICES:
Will start after Spring Break (early to mid April.) Practices will be held once per week until May, then twice a week. We'll do our best to accommodate everyone's schedule, but the coach has the final say.
2010 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:
June 5/6th in Ypsilanti
June 11/12 in Muskegon (Fri/Sat to avoid Father's Day) (Lotsa fun - picnic on the beach!!)
June 19/20 in Oakland (Cougar Mass, overnight available at Hotel Baronette)
June 26/27: Battle Creek (OPTIONAL - extra $50 - team to decide)
(usually 5 games per weekend.)
UNIFORMS:
Uniforms are an additional $60 if you need to order one. Indicate the size you need for jersey and shorts on the sign-up form.

120-145lbs=Adult M
145-165=Adult L
165-185lbs=Adult XL
185-205lbs=Adult XXL

FEES:
$225 (basic three weekends)
$50 (optional 4th weekend)
$60 (if uniform is needed)
